Emotional First Aid Launch

grish art were proud to witness the launch of 'Emotional First Aid' on 1st July 2008 at the Harbour Lights Cinema. Commissioned by Solent Youth Action to design and produce the Me and U Booklet pictured here, our vision was to create a document which, although private and very personal, had been offered by the group to others with a view to helping them through negative experiences.

grish art focussed on tactile, creative surfaces, images and type resulting in a very personal design reflecting the content created by the young people.

The presentation launch screened the DVD which filmed the performances of every young person who contributed to the Me and U booklet including artwork, poetry, rap and diary entries. The Me and U Booklet offers help and support to those who are witnessing a young person with mental health issues or a young person experiencing a problem themselves. The peer advice contained in this document, as opposed to a more prescriptive one, is proving extremely successful amongst the Southampton Primary Care Trust who are eagerly supporting the various projects and creations.
